
Please find below a list of wedding legal requirements and paperwork required in order to get married in Cyprus, for those of a different nationality not listed below please contact us to discuss the paperwork and legal requirements of marriage in Cyprus.
• 10 year passport with at least six months left before expiry.
• Statutory declarations from a solicitor stating that you are free and single (one for each Bride and Groom) this must be an original and stamped with solicitor on it valid from 3 to 6 months, please check this with us before you obtain it,your wedding date must be within the 3 or 6 month period.
• For Scottish couples a certificate of no impediment is required from the legal registry office, valid for 3 months your wedding date must be within this 3 months.
• Birth certificates.
• Adoption papers if adopted.
• Divorce paper if divorced, decree absolute.
• Change of name papers by deed poll.
• Death certificate if either party is widowed.
• If under the age of 18 parental consent signed and stamped by a solicitor.
• All of the above except for a statutory declaration you will need a freedom to marry certificate.
For catholic weddings,
• At least one or both baptism certificates
for Anglican weddings
• One of you must have been baptised within the church of England..
1) Please note that all paperwork must be original and brought with you in your hand luggage.
2) Failure to bring the originals and correct paperwork will result in your wedding not taking place.
3) Elite Weddings will not be held responsible if your wedding has to be cancelled due to incorrect paperwork.
